Getting started in Recruiting
Recruiting is a great career, and one that can potentially be done on-site or remotely, contract or full-time, as part of a company, an agency, or freelance. It's a position that you can often enter into with no experience and gain training on the job. An agency is a great way to get your start, and they'll usually start you off with a base pay and commission package. It takes time to ramp up your commissions, but once you do it can be very lucrative. It can also be a good stepping stone over to corporate recruitment if that's the way you want to go. To get started in recruiting, try to leverage any professional experience that you do have when interviewing for a recruiter role. Highlight any experience that you have in HR, or perhaps you were in a role where you had to interview or hire. Customer service and account management are relevant skills as well, as is research, marketing, project management, and data.
It's also critical to have a great resume and LinkedIn profile, even if you're new to the workforce.
